Why am I receiving "Account linking failed. Please retry or contact Customer Support for assistance." when trying to link my Bethesda.net Account?
The error message "Account linking failed. Please retry or contact Customer Support for assistance." appears when you are trying to link to an account that already has another Bethesda.net Account associated with it. If you have another Bethesda.net account, log into that account to see if you already linked to the service you are trying to link to.
- This error message could also occur if you haven't fully logged out of your accounts when trying to relink to another account. Try fully logging out of both your Bethesda.net account and the service you are trying to link to, then log back in and perform the linking process at the account Linked Accounts page.
If you are not sure if you have another Bethesda.net account, try logging into the Bethesda.net website with the email address associated with your Steam/Xbox/PlayStation account as it would have defaulted to that email address. At this stage, you may just need to complete your Bethesda.net account registration. You can view instructions on how to do this here: How do I complete my Bethesda.net Account Registration
You can check what your Bethesda.net Account is linked to by visiting the Linked Accounts page on your account on Bethesda.net. If you don't see the account you are trying to link in the list, please check alternate email addresses you may have used.
If you wish to change the Bethesda.net Account associated with an external service (like Twitch or Facebook), you will need to go to the Linked Accounts section of the correct Bethesda.net Account and use the trash icon to unlink your account.
